Frogs!

The frogs are back!
We had a good freeze on Friday night but woke up to sunshine!

Getting up into the sixties Saturday and, I'm sure, breaking 70 degrees on Sunday brought them back.
For the last six years these little guys have been singing us to sleep. Sometimes, just an aria under our window and sometimes the entire deafening choir. They love my lush mini-garden and regularly visit from the little pond a couple of hundred feet away. We were amazed when we caught one and found out how small they are. They could easily sit on a quarter, but the sound they make is enormous!

Right now, frogs mean SPRING to me!

Boy, am I ready. Next is leaves on trees and flowers blooming. Wouldn't it be wonderful if it was always Spring?

March 9 10am-ish

Well, here we are again.
This photo is the view from my window workbench.
Sitting and playing with alcohol inks, I'm able to look out at the snow coming down. It is pretty, but it's also only the 1st day.

No panic this time. I don't have anywhere I need to be until Friday. Yay!

The panic and claustrophobia shouldn't set in till about Thursday morning if this doesn't go away. For now, I'll happily enjoy the quiet, play cd's and fiddle with paper crafts while it continues to snow.

THE UPDATE ~>>> 3-10-09

It snowed, and snowed, and snowed. Nearly 7 inches. Then, *cue angels singing music* the sun came out. Clear Blue Sky. The contrast against the freshly snow covered roofs was beautiful. 3:00pm and the snow started to melt. Of course it didn't melt all the way before evening came and the temperature started to drop. A cold, clear night left us with a crunchy, icy roadway in the neighborhood and black ice on the main streets. I'm stuck in the garage but hey, the sun is out so I don't mind :)

Nooooooooo!

I don't want to talk about it.

hmmmmm...

You may never hear this from me again.
I'll date stamp it for proof it was really said.

"I wish it would rain"

There. It's said.

You know, I love a great excuse (snow) to stay home from work as much as the next guy/gal. Even more than that, I love an excuse to litter the house with partially finished art projects. Moving from project to project when I need a change of pace.

But now?
I've really had enough.

It's making me a whiner and I'm really not one.
"Sure", you say. It's true!
I am the lemonade from lemons, treasures from trash, snowballs from snow ultimate diehard. Ok, but maybe not that last one anymore.

Yes. Please rain. For a few days in a row, even.

ps: it's still snowing

Watch Armegeddon unfold in my neighborhood

NOAA forecasts better than it has actually been

Come on, really?

I mean, I'm already convinced we're beginning Armageddon but via the Ice Age? Really?
There has to be a better way to go.

The top is Thursday morning (which I thought was awful) the roads getting out of the neighborhood were impassable for a 2 wheel drive.

But look at this. Now this here is Saturday at 5pm.

I know the pictures are dark.
That's 'cause there's NO LIGHT.
It's STILL SNOWING!

It's nice and quiet, pretty and all... for about 3 days. Now, it just plain awful. It's worn out it's welcome.

Places to go, things to do.
My tires haven't seen pavement since Tuesday but they still ventured out on Wednesday. Scary. They are safely in the garage until we get a bit of rain to make this all go away.
